在英語(yǔ)書(shū)寫(xiě)中，省略號(hào)是3個(gè)點(diǎn)。

在電腦系統(tǒng)中，省略號(hào)是一個(gè)字符，看起來(lái)是連續(xù)的3個(gè)點(diǎn)…（中文連續(xù)2次字符，即6個(gè)點(diǎn)……），中間不存在空格。

但是，在英文輸入中，很多人會(huì)直接輸入3個(gè)句點(diǎn)...（MS Word中會(huì)自動(dòng)替換成一個(gè)省略號(hào)字符…）。也有人會(huì)輸入 . . . （即：句點(diǎn)+空格+句點(diǎn)+空格+句點(diǎn)）。

國(guó)外的出版界會(huì)有不同的要求。

The AP Stylebooksays to treat the ellipsis as a three-letter word, with spaces on either side of the ellipsis but no spaces between the dots.

According to various style guides, an ellipsis is three periods, with a space in between each [ . . . ].

我國(guó)的英文出版物中，省略號(hào)內(nèi)部無(wú)空格，省略號(hào)與前后的單詞之間通常需要空開(kāi)一個(gè)字符，尤其是前面有逗點(diǎn)、句點(diǎn)等標(biāo)點(diǎn)的情況下，如果不留空格，容易造成視覺(jué)不適。請(qǐng)比較：

He said,...is the most important.

He said, ... is the most important.

其實(shí)道理很簡(jiǎn)單啊，正如AP Stylebook說(shuō)的，一個(gè)省略號(hào)就相當(dāng)于是一個(gè)單詞，那么單詞和單詞之間就需要空格了。

但是前后不使用空格的情況也是有的，for ex...ple， 這種單詞不寫(xiě)完整的情況。
